Taking another peek back into history, I will tell you one of the most important events of Halle Berry’s life.

In February 2000, Berry was involved in a car accident in which she struck a vehicle after running a red light, and left the scene before the police arrived. Berry, who had sustained a head injury, stated she had no recollection of the accident and pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge. She paid a fine, made restitution to the other driver, performed community service, and was placed on three years’ supervised probation by the Los Angeles County Adult Probation Office.

Halle says; it’s a blank. Though she has tried repeatedly to recall what happened, she says she has “not a clue how I got from driving from my friend’s house to being a bloody mess with a crashed car.” Though Halle has accepted the judgment of doctors that, because of the head injury she suffered in the accident–a bond-deep gash to her forehead that required 20 stitches to close–she may never remember, she acknowledges that she did leave the crash site before authorities arrived. Which is why, she says, she agreed to plead no contest to a misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of a traffic accident.

“It was important for me as the woman I say that I am to take some responsibility,” says Halle of the accident in which the driver of the other vehicle broke her wrist. “I think that was the right thing for me to do.”

Monster Ball is regarded to be Halle Berry’s best performances ever and that fetched her an Oscar in 2002.

The role was difficult to essay but there was one scene which was harder than any scene she enacted. The one in which she had to beat up young actor Dante Beze.

She says,

“That was harder than any scene…harder than the scene where I’m butt naked. He’s a real child and he has real issues with obesity and all the emotional baggage that goes along with that. I was worried that making this movie could really damage him - perhaps for the rest of his life.”

To prevent that

“Before (and after) every scene I’d hug him and kiss him. And what I’ve done since filming is stay in his life. I really want to be involved and keep in touch with him. He told me a lot of things about who he is and about the pain he keeps inside.”

She truly deserves another Oscar for that movie. What say folks?

You have seen her in Monster Ball, Gothika etc playing tortured characters. Not surprisingly Halle Berry loves essaying the roles of these tortured characters…and she is really good at it.

Talking about her ‘tortured’ character in Monster she says,

“it’s very cathartic. At the end of the movie I felt so fresh and clean - like I got to release some of the demons inside of me. A lot of things get held inside and through art I’m able to purge myself of all of that. I actually got to work out some issues for myself and that’s why I love to do it.”

With the powerful actress that she is, she can get away with an oscar for almost every good role that she essays.

We all know that Halle Berry, despite having a body that would give any fitness freak a run for her money, is a diabetic. Surprisingly, she doesnt have any regrets about it.

She has welcomed it with open arms… eventhough that meant not having a normal lifestyle.

“My teacher told me at the age of 10 that when I grew up, I was going to be given a gift. Diabetes turned out to be it. It gave me the strength and toughness I needed for my life.”

Halle Berry believes sex is vital for a happy life.

The Oscar-winning beauty loves sex and says it’s one of five essential things in life.

Halle said: “When you are in love it’s one of the most important things. The others are family, knowledge. Laughter and passion. My passion is acting.”

Despite being content with her life at the moment, the twice-divorced star recently admitted it hasn’t always been that way.

The stunning actress once contemplated suicide following the breakdown of her marriage to first husband David Justice.

She said: “I felt worthless after that marriage. I shut myself in my car in my garage with the engine running and I sat there, smelling the fumes.

“I started to think about how selfish I was being and how my mother would react if I stayed in that car. It was a struggle, but I made a pact with myself that I’d never contemplate taking my life again.”

In a survey of 1,500 filmgoers, conducted by underwear chain La Senza, Bond girl Honey Ryder emerging from the sea in her white bikini came top of the favourite swimwear moments.

The popularity of the scene is also reflected at number three in the poll, with HALLE BERRY’S tribute in Die Another Day and at number nine with MIKE MYERS’ Austin Powers spoof.

Another golden oldie made it to number two - the moment BARBARA WINDSOR’S top flew off during an outdoor aerobics session in Carry On Camping – and CAMERON DIAZ’S bikini-clad turn in Charlie’s Angels: Full throttle made it to number four.

Bringing up the rear, in more ways than one, was BORAT’S famous mankini moment!

Halle Berry is one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood today and she has come a long way in last 17 years. Spike Lee gave Halle her first big role alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Jungle Fever in 1991, and her career sky-rocketed from there, though at first her body arguably attracted more attention than her acting skills in films such as X-Men, Die Another Day, Catwoman and Gothika. She then played in Warren Beatty’s political satire Bulworth and TV film Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, for which she won an Emmy and a Golden Globe award. She became the first black woman to win a Best Actress Oscar for Monster’s Ball in 2002.

And mind you she is still nowhere close to quitting!

After two unsucessful marriages Halle Berry has given up on marriage. She thinks she can take relationships better than she can take marriage.

A source had quoted her saying, “I want a relationship because I am a relationship oriented person. I just no longer need to do it the traditional way…That paper isn’t as important as it used to be”.

She further explained why she never wants to marry again, “I never want to be married again. I guess you could say I have bad taste in men. But I no longer feel the need to be someone’s wife. I don’t feel like I need to be validated by being in a marriage”.

Looks like Halle is ‘twice bitten and forever shy’

t hasn’t been long since we spotted Halle Berry shopping for baby clothes. On being asked whats up with shopping for baby clothes when she is not even close to being pregnant, she said,

“I am so ready to be a Mommy. I can’t wait! I notice every little baby dress, every little baby toy, every little baby thing.”

I hope she gets pregnant soon… else she will die of desperation hahahah!

Halle Berry was seen shopping for children’s clothes a few days ago and according to her,

“That’s [kids] what I want most in the world: to be a good mother and do the best for my kids, even if I’m single. My mother raised us on her own and she did a really good job.”

But does that mean she is considering abortion if she is not pregnant?

“I don’t know whether I’ll have children of my own or whether I’ll adopt. I just want to be a mother, it’s what I want so badly, as a woman and as a human being…to give my life meaning.”
