Halle Berry was the star of the Oscar fashions, wearing her black Armani gown with bright red, beaded flowers with a diamond necklace worth $51 million. She completed her ensemble with platinum and diamond stilettos worth $1.9 million and was escorted by 3 body guards on her red carpet entrance to the award ceremony.

The 77 carat Archduke Joseph Diamond, designed by Alfredo Molina, dwarfed the simple diamond pendants worn by other actresses. She was also wearing 64 carats on her feet and 166 carats on her neck.

The dress was awesome… and it had looked much better on her if she had longer hair to give out a more feminine look.

You have seen her in Monster Ball, Gothika etc playing tortured characters. Not surprisingly Halle Berry loves essaying the roles of these tortured characters…and she is really good at it.

Talking about her ‘tortured’ character in Monster she says,

“it’s very cathartic. At the end of the movie I felt so fresh and clean - like I got to release some of the demons inside of me. A lot of things get held inside and through art I’m able to purge myself of all of that. I actually got to work out some issues for myself and that’s why I love to do it.”

With the powerful actress that she is, she can get away with an oscar for almost every good role that she essays.

Halle Berry, although has admitted that her super-popular character of Storm in the X-Men series is a cartoon-type role, yet she said that by the end of filming the movie, she had actually begun to envy her characters’ magical powers.

She said, “I’d like to be able to use Storm’s powers for good, like have it rain more in Southern California. We could do with it,” she says.

Wish we could have Sexy Super-heroines actually saving the world like that! Super-man would have had some company atleast!

We all know that Halle Berry, despite having a body that would give any fitness freak a run for her money, is a diabetic. Surprisingly, she doesnt have any regrets about it.

She has welcomed it with open arms… eventhough that meant not having a normal lifestyle.

“My teacher told me at the age of 10 that when I grew up, I was going to be given a gift. Diabetes turned out to be it. It gave me the strength and toughness I needed for my life.”

She tells the UK edition of Cosmopolitan, “We had a Maltese dog and he threw it across the room during dinner one night, because it had annoyed him. The dog almost bit its own tongue off.

“Whenever I think of my father, that’s the first thing that comes to my head.”

Halle Berry nearly killed herself after marriage breakdown

Halle Berry tried to take her own life after her first marriage ended in tatters.

The 40-year-old actress attempted to gas herself with exhaust fumes after her union to David Justice came to a bitter end in 1996.

‘I felt worthless after that marriage. I shut myself in my car in my garage with the engine running and I sat there, smelling the fumes,’ she tells Parade magazine in an upcoming article.

‘I started to think about how selfish I was being and how my mother would react if I stayed in that car. It was a struggle, but I made a pact with myself that I’d never contemplate taking my life again.’

Halle was divorced from second husband, musician Eric Benét, in 2005 and now says that she’ll never marry again.

Halle Berry’s biggest mistake was tattooing the name of her first husband onto her buttocks. The star has had the mark re-inked, changing David Justice’s name into a sunflower.

She tells the UK edition of Cosmopolitan, “I chose a sunflower because when darkness descends they close up to regenerate. But I really wish I’d never had the tattoo in the first place. Clean, clear skin is always better.”

Halle Berry believes sex is vital for a happy life.

The Oscar-winning beauty loves sex and says it’s one of five essential things in life.

Halle said: “When you are in love it’s one of the most important things. The others are family, knowledge. Laughter and passion. My passion is acting.”

Despite being content with her life at the moment, the twice-divorced star recently admitted it hasn’t always been that way.

The stunning actress once contemplated suicide following the breakdown of her marriage to first husband David Justice.
